Buddy
September 17, 2006
lo-fi wma (265kb) hi-fi mp3 (2.58mb)

One of the groups I play in, Cedarhill, had the honor of being the musicians to play at the Buds Of The Redwoods Buddy Walk on October 7, 2006 in Eureka, California. The Buddy Walk is sponsored by the local chapter of the National Down's Syndrome Society. I wrote this song to commemorate the event. "Buddy" was recorded entirely on the PC, using Audiograbber line input to record the tracks and Acid for the mixdown.   link to forum post

Airport
July 08, 2006
lo-fi wma (625kb) hi-fi mp3 (2.36mb)

This is a song I wrote back in 1994. Although I have played it live many times since then, I never got around to recording it until recently. Recorded on computer, 06-30-06. Re-recorded, 07-02-06. The song depicts the plight of a homeowner who has built a house next to the local airport. Although the land was cheap due to its location, the poor fellow forgets this, and complains about the noise.   link to forum post

lo-fi wma (51.4kb) hi-fi mp3 (195kb)

This is my third digital recording, 2003. Recorded in mono on a hand-held cassette recorder, imported to the computer using AudioGrabber line input sampling, converted to mp3 in AudioGrabber. I wanted to test Audiograbber. I did not know that my cable had a mono adapter. The low quality level is from the cassette recorder. This is actually just a test of the ability to transfer an analog audio file to the computer.   link to forum post

Audacity-Drops

lo-fi wma (125kb) hi-fi mp3 (484kb)

This is my second digital recording, 2003. Recorded in Audacity, one track at a time, using the computer's microphone. Tracks assigned left and right, modified, converted to mp3 in Audacity. I wanted to see if my Windows 95 machine was capable of using Audacity to make a multi-track recording. I had many problems with the OEM sound card. I still did not know how btrate affects sound quality.   link to forum post

lo-fi wma (243kb) hi-fi mp3 (938kb)

This is my first digital recording, 2003. Recorded using Windows 95 Sound Recorder, using the computer's microphone, at PCM 22,050 hz, 8 bit mono, 22kb/sec, then converted to mp3 in Audacity. I wanted to see if I could use my Windows 95 machine to make a digital recording. I did not know about how bitrate affected sound quality.   link to forum post
